Reviewer Guidelines

The IECEP Journal shares the belief that any scholar who publishes scientific works should also endeavor to participate in the peer-review process. To assist the editorial board in assessing and evaluating the submitted papers, all reviewers are urged to observe the following:

  1. Reviewers are expected to complete the review on or before the deadline as a matter of professional integrity.
  2. When declining the invitation to review for any reason, the reviewers should inform the editors immediately so other reviewers can be contacted.
  3. All reviewers should be transparent on all possible forms of conflict of interest with any of the paper's authors before agreeing to review. The conducting editor determines the severity of the conflict and decides whether the invited reviewer should continue to be involved in the review.
  4. The reviewers should treat all submitted papers with strict confidentiality. The reviewer should only use the paper's contents under review once it is published.
  5. Observe objectivity and civility in the review. The review must be based on the merits of the work and provides constructive advice to authors to improve their paper. Refrain from giving insensitive or unprofessional comments to authors. Also, refrain from giving comments to the authors on whether the paper is suitable or unsuitable for publication. Address these to the editorial board.
  6. Notify the conducting editor immediately of any similarity of the paper under review to any published article.
